DMZ has one full-time crop scout, our cousin, Jake Fiene. Jake is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and is majoring in Agribusiness. Jake has crop scouted the past two growing seasons and has an interest in Agronomy......and hunting.
DMZ currently provides scouting services to Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. We go as far north as Warrens, Wisconsin and about as far south as DeKalb, Illinois.
If you are looking for scouting services for Tissue Sampling, Soil Sampling, Disease Diagnostics, or documented visual inspections in the Southern Wisconsin or Northern Illinois area, DMZ has a scout that can do the job.
DMZ is an Ag UAV company so all of the people we use to scout fields have at least a year of flight experience with UAV aircraft. As regulations shift over the next two years, DMZ will have a trained team of scouts.
Pricing for a DMZ Crop scout is $1/acre plus additional fees for any tissue, soil, or disease diagnostic test. Tissue and Soil sampling are done through Winfield's Nutrisolutions testing program. Advanced soil sampling for biologicals is done through DMZ's Testing Program. Nematode Testing is done through Russell Labs in Madison, WI and disease diagnostics is done through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
